What do I do if I am with an attorney I don’t like or I’m not getting any information from them?
The number one complaint I hear from people that call me is that they’re left in the dark. They have no idea what’s going on with their case. Their attorney doesn’t return phone calls. The staff at the other office is rude, etc. Just because you signed a contract with another attorney does not mean you can’t get out of it. It’s very simple. California allows you to terminate your attorney at any time. Your new attorney sends them a letter saying: “You guys are out of the picture. You cannot contact our client.” And the most beautiful part is whatever time the other attorney has spent, whatever his bill is for his time, us, your new attorney picks it up. Nothing comes out of your pocket. And the reason the law is written that way, is so that no single person feels obligated to get stuck with an attorney he doesn’t like. So if you’re currently unhappy with your attorney, if you’re in the dark and don’t know what is going on with your case, give us a call. We are here for you 24/7.
What do I do if I am in an accident?
It’s a very broad question that could be discussed in length but I am going to tell you the most important things to do if you’re in an accident. 1) If you are badly injured call 911. Worry about yourself. Make sure you get to the hospital and you are given the right care. 2) If the officer is there to interview you, tell them what happened. 3) Once you’re done with the police officer and you are able to, call an attorney. Give us a call. Whether it’s 4am, 3am, or 2am. It doesn’t matter. Call us. We can discuss your accident and build up the case. We can talk about what happened. 4) Whatever you do, you do not communicate with the insurance company. You do not give anybody any type of statement. If somebody calls you or shows up at the hospital illegally to take your statement – unless it’s the police – you do not communicate with anybody until after we meet or you meet with your attorney. If you are in a physically bad condition, I will ride out to you. We will go to your home, to the hospital, meet at your office. Whatever is convenient for you and take you through the proper steps.
Those are great things to remember and always remember that Shark Squad is always riding by your side.
Does your attorney ride? And does that help you in your cases?
Listen guys. It absolutely matters and yes I ride. You know that it takes more than representation in court to be able to link the riding to practicing law. I ride everyday. I split lanes. It allows me to think about the cases we have and construct the accident in my mind. So if you tell me what happened, I can place myself in your shoes, or boots. When I read a technical police report I can often tell can if the officer does not ride and does not know what’s going on. Witnesses aren’t able to explain everything in detail and from a rider’s perspective. As I’m reading the police report, I am the one riding the motorcycle not you. I can construct the accident and reconstruct the accident mentally in my mind. That is how I am able to form the argument. I’m able to take the mechanics and apply the law moving towards a victory.
Where do you have offices?
Our Corporate Office is in Newport Beach, CA. We have satellite offices throughout the state of California. A lot of riders when they are down, they are in the hospital. So we never expect you to come in. You tell us where you are and I will personally ride out to you. I don’t care if you are in San Francisco, San Diego or Los Angeles.
If I have to hop on a plane, we will come to you. We will make it as convenient as possible. So our location doesn’t matter. And if you did want to come in and see us and you’re far away that’s not a problem either. Make an appointment with any of our satellite offices and we will be there for you.
Remember Shark squad is always riding by your side.
