Eddie Parker
Eddie has been at the Mission for one year this month. He completed Phase I six months ago and since then has begun working at the Mission in a leadership role. Eddie is officially House Leader, taking this position since Tuck passed away this past May. Eddie is an organizer and helps schedule and conduct interviews with potential residents and coordinates jobs and tasks for the men throughout each day. He also helps plan meals, receiving and processing food donations and schedules medical, dental, and optical appointments for the men, as well as overseeing the men and providing them with guidance.
Mike Shirley says about Eddie, “He is faithful and dependable and seeks God’s leading in dealing with the men here at the Mission. Eddie is a role model and helps teach these men to follow Jesus.” Concerning what he thinks is the greatest thing about the Mission, Eddie says, “It’s a safe place for men to come and hear about Jesus, get sober, and become productive members of society. I’m thankful there is a Mission At The Cross.” Eddie was homeless for eight years in Florida and really appreciates what God has done for him through Mission At The Cross.
