We have all read Proverbs 3:5-6 and Matthew 6:33. Putting God first when you’re starting a new year – or starting something new for that matter – is always the best thing to do. But we often get caught up in the worldly race, get busy with our obligations and responsibilities and just simply forget to do so. And it happens to me also. In the previous issue #74 Jul/Aug 2024, I wrote in my letter that we will begin sharing our prayers for our children in hope that you will be encouraged and pray for your children as well. No matter what age they are, we want them to grow up and be respectable, honorable, moral, ethical, Bible-believing, men and women of God. We can also pray for our grandchildren, but our children are the ones raising them and sometimes our children, no matter their age, have not grown up. I think that all of us, and if not all of us most of us, agree that prayer is powerful. Personally, we have experienced the power of prayer over and over again in our lives, and we want to encourage you to do and experience the same.
Faithfulness today is the best preparation for the demands of tomorrow.
~ Elisabeth Elliot
Dear Lord, I pray that my children will put You first. I pray that they will seek Your kingdom and Your righteousness, and I pray that they would be blessed because of their choices. Heavenly Father, You know that this world offers countless temptations and destructions. These worldly priorities threatened to sap our energy, monopolize our time, and dominate our thoughts. Protect us from these dangers, Lord, and guide us along the path that You have chosen for us. You have blessed my family, beyond measure Lord. I pray that we will always put You first, ahead of every other priority. Amen.
Therefore, let everyone who is godly pray to You
in a time when You may be found;
Certainly in a flood of great waters,
they will not reach him.
~ Psalm 32:6
Keep this prayer, and verse with your daily reading until the next issue where we will have a new prayer for you.
