WOG: Tell us a few words about you.
LJC: I’m Lyndon John Catbagan from Carson, California. I am a Vintage motorcycle lover. With my interpretation of a modern Vintage Harley-Davidson.
WOG: What was your very first motorcycle, and what’s your most cherished memory of it?
LJC: 1991 Sportster Deluxe (XLH883DLX) modeled her after a 1958 H-D Sportster. Riding her solo to the Love Ride.

WOG: Why did you choose the two-wheeled life, and what keeps you coming back to the saddle?
LJC: I was riding a bicycle at a young age and then racing BMX at the age of 12–16. Two wheels are in my blood.
WOG: Tell us about the bike you ride now. What makes it special?
LJC: She is a 1998 Harley-Davidson FLSTS. I modeled her after a 1936 H-D VLH. She has factory paint with the correct 1936 emblems.
WOG: Where’s your favorite place to ride, and what makes it so captivating?
LJC: I always try to ride by the coast. The scenery and fresh air revigorates me when riding.
WOG: Can you share a challenging or unforgettable riding adventure?
LJC: Early 2000s, caught heavy rain on my way to the Love Ride event and she broke down.

WOG: What does “freedom” mean to you? Especially when on the bike.
LJC: Freedom on a bike means being more connected. Naturally to the environment than being boxed in.
WOG: What’s your favorite quote about motorcycling, and why?
LJC: “Four wheels move the body two wheels move the soul!” Being on two wheels, gives me a different perspective on life.
WOG: How often do you ride?
LJC: 2–3 times a week, plus I often ride to work.
WOG: What advice would you give to someone who wants to start riding and to one who loves riding?
LJC: Take a MC – safety course. Know your limit. Enjoy the ride and don’t rush.
WOG: What’s one ride you’re dreaming of taking?
LJC: I plan to take a central California coast trip and doing some camping, at a few spots up to Monterey.
WOG: I am sure your bike has won many awards over the years. Can you tell us some of them? Perhaps some that stand out?
LJC: I’ve had my springer for over 27 years, and she’s done well on the show scene. Taking best motorcycle at the Edelbrock show and was an honor meeting Vic Edelbrock.
Motorcycling to me is a privilege. I am blessed to be able to ride. I am very thankful to experience and own two beautiful machines for over 34 years. Motorcycle riding connects me with faith by offering a sense of freedom, adventure and solitude for spiritual reflection, serving as a pathway to experience God‘s creation and find peace with oneself. I say a prayer every time I settled my bike. I pray for vigilance and safety.
