Indian Lake Rebuild Ride, Indian Lake, OH
On March 14, 2024, our small community of Indian Lake in Ohio was ravaged by an F4 tornado. After seeing the absolute devastation, the tornado had done to the community I grew up in, I wanted to help in some way. We had just started a motorcycle ministry just the month before to reach the alcoholic, the drug addict, the abused, the unbelieving, the lost in this world. We walk in the dark to be a light in this world.
As a ministry we decided to organize a benefit ride and we called it the Indian Lake Rebuild Ride. As the event started to get major recognition, I decided to invite president of the CMA Lima chapter in Lima Ohio to join us to plan this event. The ride started out at Harley-Davidson in Lima Ohio and went through Indian Lake ending at Desperados in Huntsville Ohio. We were praying for 300 bikes at the most to show up and to our amazement God blessed us with over 1,000 bikes!
People came from all over the state of Ohio and there were also people from Michigan, Indiana, Pennsylvania and Kentucky. Bikers from all walks of life came to support this event from weekend riders to 1%er clubs and everything in between. There were so many bikes that we had to leave in smaller groups instead of one group as originally planned and when we arrived at Desperados, they didn’t even have enough room for everyone!! We had several businesses donate their services and items for the raffle drawing. There was even a prison in Marion Ohio called North Central where the inmates that worked in the wood shop made several nice items to auction off. It was an amazing event, and we were able to raise $21,250.00 for the community in around 4 hours. All of this was only possible through the help and grace of God. We give God all the glory as we know our ministry could not pulled off such an amazing event without God.
